Special Condition for Safe Use (X):
1. The Model 644 Temperature Transmitter must be installed in a suitably certified enclosure
such that it is afforded a degree of protection of at least IP54 in accordance with IEC
60529 and EN 60079-15.
2. When fitted with the Transient Protector Assembly, the equipment is not capable of
withstanding the 500V test. This must be taken into account during installation.

1. Care must be taken to ensure that the surface temperature does not exceed 85°C when
RTDs or thermocouples are fitted to the transmitter.
2. The mechanical and chemical characteristics of the process fluid must be evaluated in
order not to cause deterioration or corrosion to the temperature probes.
3. For information on the dimensions of explosion-proof joints, the manufacturer should be
contacted.
